കോഴിക്കോട്: തിരുകേശ സൂക്ഷിപ്പിനൊരു ഉത്തമ കേന്ദ്രം എന്ന മുദ്രാവാക്യമുയര്‍ത്തി കേരളത്തില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പള്ളിയെപ്പറ്റി സൗദിയില്‍നിന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന മാഗസിനില്‍ സചിത്ര ലേഖനം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് മുടിയെപ്പറ്റി ഒരു പരാമര്‍ശവുമില്ലാതെ. സൗദി ഗവണ്‍മെന്റിന്റെ ഹജ്ജ് മന്ത്രാലയം ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന 'അല്‍ഹജ്ജു വല്‍ഉംറ' എന്ന മാസികയുടെ 2011 മേയ് ലക്കത്തിലെ 34, 35 പേജുകളിലാണ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷില്‍ ഈ പള്ളിയെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് ലേഖനമുള്ളത്. Magnificent Mosque എന്നാണ് ലേഖനത്തിന്റെ തലവാചകം.ഒരേസമയം 25,000 പേര്‍ക്ക് നമസ്‌കരിക്കാവുന്ന, ദല്‍ഹി ജുമാ മസ്ജിദിനേക്കാളും വലിയ പള്ളിയാണ് കേരളത്തില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് എന്ന വാചകത്തോടെയാണ് തുടക്കം. 500 ഏക്കറില്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന മര്‍കസ് നോളജ് സിറ്റിയില്‍ പള്ളിക്ക് പുറമെ ഐ.ടി സെന്റര്‍, മെഡിക്കല്‍-എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ് കോളജുകള്‍, ഹോസ്‌പിറ്റല്‍, സ്‌കൂളുകള്‍, ഷോപ്പിങ് മാളുകള്‍ എന്നിവയാണുണ്ടാകുക. ഇസ്‌ലാമിന്റെ മാനവിക സാഹോദര്യവും ആത്മീയതയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പള്ളിയോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് മുസ്‌ലിമേതര സമൂഹങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കൂടി അറിവുനേടാനുതകുന്ന ലൈബ്രറിയും സമ്മേളന ഹാളും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുമെന്നും പള്ളിയെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി മര്‍കസ് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ അധ്യക്ഷന്‍ എ.പി. അബൂബക്കര്‍ മുസ്‌ലിയാര്‍ പറഞ്ഞുവെന്നാണ് ലേഖനത്തിലുള്ളത്. 12 ഏക്കറില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പള്ളിക്ക് എട്ട് ഏക്കറില്‍ പൂന്തോട്ടം നിര്‍മിക്കുമെന്ന് വിവരിക്കുന്ന ഭാഗത്ത് മാത്രമേ ശഅ്‌റെ മുബാറക് ഗ്രാന്‍ഡ് മസ്ജിദ് എന്ന പദം പോലും ഒരുതവണ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളൂ. എന്താണ് ശഅ്‌റെ മുബാറക് എന്നോ മുടി ആര് നല്‍കിയെന്നോ അതിന്റെ പ്രാമാണികത എന്തെന്നോ തുടങ്ങിയ ഒരു കാര്യവും ലേഖനത്തിലില്ല.
ഒമ്പത് മില്യണ്‍ യു.എസ് ഡോളര്‍ പള്ളി നിര്‍മാണത്തിനും 272 മില്യണ്‍ യു.എസ് ഡോളര്‍ ടൗണ്‍ഷിപ് നിര്‍മാണത്തിനും കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് മര്‍കസും മഅ്ദിന്‍ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക് അക്കാദമിയും നടത്തുന്ന സേവന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരങ്ങളാണ് ലേഖനത്തിന്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കം. നോളജ് സിറ്റിയുടെ പ്രധാന പ്രവേശന കവാടം, പള്ളിയുടെ രൂപരേഖ എന്നീ ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് കൂടെയുള്ളത്. ഈ പദ്ധതിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഗള്‍ഫ് രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് സാമ്പത്തിക സ്രോതസ്സ് കണ്ടെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ ഫയലില്‍ വെക്കാന്‍ പര്യാപ്തമായൊരു ലേഖനം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിപ്പിക്കുകയാണുണ്ടായതെന്നാണ് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഇക്കാരണത്താലാണ് തിരുകേശത്തെപ്പറ്റി ഒരു വാക്കും ലേഖനത്തില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്താതിരുന്നതെന്നാണ് സൂചന.

By Ashraf Padanna/Thiruvananthapuram India’s biggest mosque, larger than Delhi’s Jama Masjid, is coming up in Kerala, thanks to Abu Bakr Ahmed alias Kanthapuram Aboobacker Musliyar, who heads the Markazu Ssaqafathi Ssunniyya group of Islamic institutions.Being built on the outskirts of Kozhikode, the mosque will have a built-up area of 250,000 sq. ft., far out-sizing the 17th century mosque commissioned by emperor Shah Jahan in the capital city of the Mughal empire.
The mosque will be located in the Markaz Knowledge City, a 500-acre self-contained township. The township will accommodate a centre for Islamic learning, an information technology (IT) hub, a medical college, an engineering college, schools, hospitals, shopping malls and various other institutions, besides residential complexes.
“The mosque will reflect the universal brotherhood and spiritual enlightenment that Islam stands for. There will also be a library for Islamic research and a conference hall where both Muslims and non-Muslims can come in pursuit of knowledge,” said the Musliyar.
“We are receiving huge support from people from all walks of life, especially the Kerala diaspora”.
Musliyar heads the popular social, charity and educational organisation which has in the past three decades educated more than 30,000, including a large number of children from displaced families in Gujarat and Kashmir.
The Sha’ar-e-Mubarak Grand Masjid is planned on a 12-acre plot of which eight acres have been set apart for landscaping a Mughal-style garden. The structures in the township will be environment-friendly with a lot of open space and greenery.
“We are planning to start work on 250 acres already acquired for the project in five months and the mosque will be ready in two years. The entire project will be complete in another five years,” said Riyaz Mohamed, the architect of the project who is credited with building some half a million square feet of public spaces including the Hajj House, Karipur, Infopark, Koratty and the National Institute of Fashion Technology campus at Kannur.
The mosque, with an open-sky courtyard, is expected to be completed at a cost of Rs400mn while the entire township project will cost around Rs12bn. It will be able to accommodate 25,000 people for prayer at a time.
“My effort is to blend traditional Islamic architecture with modern technology adopting the green building concept. It will also employ a large number of people in this backward area,” said Mohamed, a graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode. “The built-up area will harmoniously blend with the greenery around”.
